Cherry Rustic Farm Table with Turned Legs

Cherry Rustic Farm Table with Turned Legs

With a hand planed and distressed top, beautiful hand finish, and warm cherry wood; this farm table would make a wonderful addition to any dining room. Recently bench-made in England, this farm table is the epitome of rustic elegance. The cherry has a beautiful hue that will only get better as the patina begins to age. The four turned legs are sturdy and strong, providing a simple, yet elegant support for this farm table. There is a straight apron under the table, just as a true Georgian period piece would have. Everything about this table was done with the utmost care and quality, resulting in a truly magnificent reproduction farm table.

Fall Down Barn

Fall Down Barn

Across the street from the abandoned farm was another piece of land that was not so abandoned. It had new fencing, a new gate, and was clearly in the middle of having old barns demolished or cleared away.

As much as I feel comfortable trespassing to take pictures I don't ever take anything physically. If ever I was tempted to though, this time was a strong urge to do just that. The perfect cut panels of wood that were so perfectly worn would make a great backdrop to my guitars hung on the wall at home. Or, to be able to make a dining table out of the longer cuts, oh that would be great.

Maybe if I see the guys working the site I'll ask them if I can take a few pieces for some personal projects.

Still a bit of a jumble since moving in three months ago, but progressing. I got the IKEA Gilbert chairs as a clean, modern contrast with the more rustic farm table. The big box is the Lycksele sofa going into the guest room--once there's room there!
